What is HIFU?
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a non-invasive treatment that delivers focused ultrasound energy to precise depths beneath the skin, while the surface stays intact.
On the face and neck it is used to lift and tighten areas such as the jawline, double chin, neck and around the eyes. On the body, it targets areas of localised fat and skin laxity, such as the stomach, love handles and arms, without incisions, needles or significant recovery time.
How it works
How does HIFU work?
Focused energy
Ultrasound is concentrated at set depths under the skin, creating tiny points of heat in the deeper layers.
Collagen renewal
That heat triggers the skin’s natural repair response, stimulating new collagen for firmer, tighter-looking skin over time.
Contouring on the body
On body areas, the energy targets fat cells in the treated zone, helping to refine and contour the silhouette.

Before
A short assessment of your goals and suitability, then the area is cleansed and prepared.
During
You may feel warmth and a tingling or prickling sensation as each line is delivered.
After
Mild redness or swelling can occur and usually settles quickly. Most people return to normal activities straight away.

Questions about HIFU
Does HIFU hurt?
Most clients describe a warm, tingling or prickling sensation along the treated lines. The intensity is adjusted to your comfort throughout the session.
How many sessions will I need?
Many face treatments are done in a single session, while body areas may benefit from a course, such as our 3-session Full Stomach plan. Aline will recommend a plan for your goals.
When will I see results?
Some people notice a difference early on, but results build gradually as new collagen forms over the following weeks. Results vary from person to person.
Is there any downtime?
HIFU is non-invasive, so most clients go back to their day immediately. Temporary redness or mild swelling may occur.
Can HIFU be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It is often paired with radiofrequency, skin boosters or lymphatic drainage. Aline will advise the best combination and timing for you.
Who performs the treatment?
Your treatment is performed at our clinic in Clane by our qualified team, led by Aline Brito, a physiotherapist with a Master’s in Biotechnology and Beautician Level 2, 3 & 4 (Ireland).
